INTO BOTSWANA.COM - LUXURY SAFARI OPERATOR The River Club

Ten luxury, thatched chalets overlook the Zambezi River, and have en suite bath facilities. All the rooms have fans and are all completely open in the front giving guests the best possible views of the Zambezi. The main building also stocks an interesting library.
Guided excursions to the Falls are a highlight. Boating to the Zambezi River's islands provides relaxed afternoon activities, and fishing and sundowner trips are offered. The Zambezi National Park is located just across the river, and elephants can be seen on the river bank. A rich bird life is found in the area. Hippos are regularly sighted (and heard) along the river's edge.

The Victoria Falls are one of the 7 Natural Wonders of the World and arguably the greatest waterfall in the world.

We do offer game drives into the nearby Mosi Oa Tunya Game Park where there is an abundance of game but sadly no big cats (that's where a safari in Botswana comes in!). There is a good chance of spotting white rhino on these trips, though. Other game that can be seen are: elephant, buffalo, giraffe, zebra, wildebeast and impala.
Peter Jones is one of the owners of The River Club and lives on the property, playing an active role in hosting guests. Born and raised in Zambia, he returned there in 1990 after spending time in various parts of the world. It was his dream to build a lodge of quality on the Zambezi, a dream that was realized in 1997, and in 2002 acknowledged as one of the "Top 101 Hotel Destinations in the World" by a leading British magazine.
