THE STORY SO FAR
Our luxury camps operating in Botswana do so under strictly supervised conservation models with substantial concession fees to the government and local communities for the betterment and safeguarding expense of this vast region. The volume of visitors at these private concessions is stringently stipulated to ensure an extraordinarily private wilderness experience and with our exclusive luxury camps only a handful of guests can experience these wild and fragile places. Big Cat Safari

In the 2000s, the refurbished Mombo Camp and Zarafa Camp launched to much acclaim as some of the most beautiful safari camps in Africa, crafting an idea of the modern safari experience.

TRAVEL WITH PURPOSE
As National Geographic explorers-in-residence, Dereck + Beverly Joubert devoted their conservation efforts in the Big Cat Initiative for the protection of African lions, leopards and cheetah. The Jouberts highlighted the remarkable wildlife of Botswana in their documentary films at the Linyanti, Vumbura and Duba Concessions. The film 'Eye of the Leopard' took shape at Mombo Concession in the Okavango Delta: “Around 2003, Dereck and I were fortunate to discover a newborn leopard cub. We had been tracking its mother for a few days. She led us to her den, where we met this tiny little fluffy furball, who we later called Legadema. The moments we spent with this mother and daughter were a lesson in caring and compassion. Their attention to each other, as if nothing else mattered, was part of the love affair I started feeling for all leopards. This moment changed our lives.” Your Private Botswana Safari

Luxury safaris, exclusively

Botswana is made up of seven distinct eco-regions, of which the Miombo woodlands and the Okavango Delta system are eco-regions of global conservation priority, classified as Vulnerable. It is this fragility that forms the heart of our eco-luxury safaris to Botswana using a low-volume, high-sustainability impact model that brings exceptionally high quality tourism for just a handful of guests on any given day.
