Situated at the confluence of the upper Okavango Delta water system and the renowned Selinda Spillway, Okavango Explorers Camp is uniquely positioned within two iconic ecosystems, teeming with wildlife. The camp offers a safari experience that evokes the exploration of the uncharted African hinterland of the 1920s, capturing the nostalgic spirit of a bygone era while ensuring that adventure and discovery remain integral elements of the journey.
The camp features six spacious one-bedroom canvas tents situated on wooden decking. Each tent offers: A private verandah with a scenic view, Light sand-colored canvas with netted windows in the rooms, Overhead fans and electrical lighting, Charging facilities, An in-room coffee/tea station, A writing desk.
Our specially designed open Toyota Land Cruisers are tailored for optimal performance in our environment and for photography enthusiasts. They feature fold-down windscreens, elevated roofs, photographic bars, and multi-plug inverters. Additionally, each Land Cruiser is fully equipped with reference books, beverages, and snacks. Additionally, guided safari walks are a specialized wildlife activity at Okavango Explorers Camp with licensed guides. There is simply no better way to experience the magic of this unique destination.

The emphasis of your stay and safari experience is on exploration and adventure. Consequently, a significant portion of wildlife viewing activities includes safari drives in our specially adapted vehicles, guided walking excursions, and canoeing on the Selinda Spillway as it flows into the Selinda Reserve from the upper reaches of the Okavango Delta. Canoeing along the Selinda Spillway channels is a unique and memorable experience, particularly during the winter months when these channels flood. This extraordinary adventure is unparalleled anywhere else in Africa.

Night drives
Our safaris at Selinda concession frequently extend into the night in pursuit of nocturnal species. Night drives are particularly productive, requiring patience but often resulting in sightings of lesser-known nocturnal mammals and even witnessing lion and hyena hunts.

The private 320,000-acre Selinda Reserve in northern Botswana is a prime habitat for predators and elephants. This carefully selected location provides access to some of the highest concentrations of wildlife in the region, particularly along the southernmost section of the Selinda Spillway. Lions, leopards, and wild dogs frequently hunt in this area. The reserve also boasts significant populations of giraffe and buffalo, as well as rare antelope species such as roan, sable, and eland.
