Botswana is well known for its diverse range of wildlife. On safari most of the major African game species can be found here, along with a number of species that are endemic to the region. Zambia is a vast country, friendly and peaceful, offering cultural encounters and spectacular views of the world-famous Victoria Falls.
Zambia is situated mainly on a vast plateau, and has three of Africa's largest rivers: the Zambezi, Kafue and Luangwa, as well as one of the tallest waterfalls in the world, the Victoria Falls.
At 1708 metres wide, the Victoria Falls is the largest curtain of water in the world with a drop of more than a hundred metres into the sheer Zambezi Gorge - arguably one of the greatest sights on Earth. Livingstone town, just ten kilometres from the Falls, is famously called the adventure capital of Africa, offering adrenalin-packed activities on and around the Falls and the Zambezi River, such as microlight and helicopter flights over the Falls, white water rafting, abseiling, kayaking and bungee jumping.
Guided tours of the Falls are best conducted in the morning when the weather is cooler, and at sunset, boat rides on the Zambezi are a romantic finish to the day.
